PROTESTS GREET GMA VISIT IN BAGUIO CITY

A TASTE OF 'CALIBRATED, PREEMPTIVE RESPONSE'? The Cordillera Peoples Alliance-Tongtongan ti Umili and its members almost got a taste of Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's (GMA) calibrated, preemptive response (CPR) en route to Camp John Hay in Baguio City on November 10, 2005, where they intended to hold a peaceful assembly to register their call for GMA's ouster. GMA was in the said venue for a national affair. A program was held in the central business district of the area instead. Text and Photos by AT Bengwayan

Rage Against the Expanded Value Added Tax (EVAT)!

A series of noise barrages were held at various points in the city this week against the EVAT.

Stickers and statements were given to motorists (who honked their horns in support to the EVAT protests).
